Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions from Israeli sellers.
Onboarding
I've already registered an AliExpress buyer account with my email. Can I use the same email to register as a seller?
No. Seller registration requires a brand-new email address — you cannot use an email already registered on AliExpress. We recommend using a dedicated business email to register.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No. Israeli local entity sellers are exempt from deposits — a unique benefit for the Israel market.
What's the commission rate?
Zero commission. You keep 100% of the sale price (excluding payment processing fees on the buyer's side, which are handled by the platform).
How long does the approval process take?
Typically several business days. The most common delay is document quality (blurry, cropped, or mismatched information). Submit clear, complete documents to speed it up.
What's the 30-day rule?
New sellers must publish at least one product within 30 days of approval, or the store will be closed. This is non-negotiable.
Are there category restrictions?
No general category restrictions, except for special categories like health supplements, which require additional permission applications.
Who do I partner with, and where does registration take me?
You partner with AliExpress. The registration button takes you to the official AliExpress seller registration page. il-ecom.com is an information hub built by the AliExpress Israel team to explain the programme and guide sellers to registration; it is not the AliExpress platform.
Products & Brand
Do I need a brand to sell?
Products with branding require brand authorization. If you own the brand, submit your trademark certificate. If you're a distributor, provide the full authorization chain.
What if my brand isn't in the platform's brand list?
You can add a new brand. Provide the trademark certificate or authorization documents during the application.
How long does brand authorization take?
3-5 business days for the full process.
Can I sell products with international brands like Nike or Apple?
These are high-risk brands available only by platform invitation. Contact us to ask about eligibility.
What if approval gets rejected?
You'll get a specific rejection reason. Most rejections are due to an incomplete authorization chain or a category mismatch. Fix the issue and reapply.
Fulfillment
Who ships the order and how is it tracked?
The seller arranges and pays for local storage and shipping; AliExpress does not ship orders. Currently available carriers include Teleport, HFD and Kexpress. After shipping, the seller enters the tracking number in the seller dashboard. AliExpress retrieves tracking updates and shows them to the customer.
Can I use a 3PL for storage and shipping?
Yes — you can use your own warehouse or a 3PL. Currently available carriers include HFD, Kexpress and Teleport; you arrange the carrier contract yourself. See the Fulfillment & Payments page.
What if I miss the shipment declaration deadline?
You'll receive a monetary penalty. The platform calculates penalties based on order value.
Can I appeal penalties?
Yes, penalties have built-in appeal channels through the seller dashboard.
Force majeure (storms, strikes) — am I exempt?
The platform reviews force majeure events case-by-case based on severity. Submit appeals with documentation.
What happens if there is a parcel problem or a defective product?
After the customer submits a complaint, AliExpress arbitrates the dispute. If AliExpress determines that the seller is at fault, the seller bears the corresponding responsibility.
Payments
What currency will I receive?
ILS (Israeli Shekels) for Israeli local entity sellers.
How long until I get paid?
15 days after the customer confirms receipt (T+15).
Can I get paid earlier?
Early payout is available for qualified sellers. It requires a platform risk assessment and may depend on your seller tier.
How does the customer pay?
Customers pay using the payment methods currently available on AliExpress. This concerns customer payment, not the seller payout cycle.
Who issues the invoice?
The seller issues the invoice. AliExpress does not participate in issuing it.
Marketing
How does the platform promote my products?
The platform runs advertising, seasonal campaigns, and traffic generation on your behalf. You don't manage ads directly.
How do I level up to N2 / N3 / N4?
Hit GMV and product-publication targets during your 3-month new seller period. Specific targets are shown in your seller dashboard.
What's the Early Bird Plan?
Submit your strongest products for review. Approved products get a 1:1 traffic subsidy from the platform.
Account
Can I run multiple stores?
Yes, up to 6 stores per company entity across the entire AliExpress platform (this includes any stores you have in other AliExpress business modes).
What if the bank account name doesn't match the company name?
Payouts may fail. The bank account must be in the registered company's name — no personal accounts, no related-company accounts.
How do I add a director or change company information after onboarding?
Submit company-level changes — adding a director, changing the registered company name, updating the registered address, or adding an authorized user — through your Seller Center backend (typically under "My Profile" / "Store Information"). Upload the relevant updated documents (board resolution, updated registration certificate, etc.), and the platform reviews each submission before it takes effect. If you're not sure which path applies to your change, contact us for guidance.
